When petrol is used in diesel engine, the engine will not work as gasoline (petrol) has high ignition temperature and therefore has to be ignited by spark-ignition. Diesel engine on the other hand works on the principal of self-ignition in compressed fuel which is not possible with petrol.
When diesel is used in petrol engine, there will be sudden combustion in the fuel due to spark ignition bcoz diesel has low ignition temperature. This will lead to high knocking, which is absolutely undesirable.kamlesh431

In automobile application we have to consider weight in addition to torque and strength. Hollow shaft has high torque transmitting capacity per unit mass compared to solid shaft. If you consider bending stress diagram for hollow it is min at centre so material requirement is minimum at centre.

although four stroke engine is more frequently used 2STROKE engine is more effiecient because for every 2 strokes there is a power stroke.for same power generation 2STROKE ENGINE is compact

4 stroke is more efficient due 2 its better milage, less wear & tear of parts, contain valves prevent frm leakage, deliver one power stroke in 4 cyle.
But in case of power, 2 stroke is better. it delivered 1 .8 times more power than 4 stroke.
Bt overall view favoured to 4 stroke engine.
