Yes, Once defect is accepted by tech team and it is found that the requirement is not in priority for release, we can change the severity and priority of defect. For Example: URL having an attachment(PDF), after defect analysis tech team and business finds we cant correct PDF till release is schedule and since PDF is not a priority as end consumers will use it less, so the team can create another requirement for later release and reduce the severity and priority for current defect.
