If we issue a cheque we would have passed an entry (debit the receiver/firm & credit the bank) that entry should be reversed (debit bank & credit the firm).

Chq cancelled means its not yet cleared by bank & the bookkeeper booked his first entry while issue the Chq

Payable/Party - Dr
Pdc Issued or Bank - Credit

So on the Chq cancelation entry should be reversal of first entry...

When reversing, How if we Dr Bank a/c and Cr Cheques cancelled a/c. Cos, if we Cr. the supplier, again he will be appearing in the age analysis and so on.....
